We see the Torah as a living, breathing document, inspired by God, that enables us to confront the timeless, relevant challenges of our everyday lives. And we believe that Judaism must evolve and adapt to the needs of people and the planet today in order to continue playing a role in how we thrive.

 

Reform Judaism affirms the central tenets of Judaism — God, Torah, and Israel — while acknowledging the diversity of Reform Jewish beliefs and practices. Indeed, Reform Judaism asks us to renew our living Covenant with God, the people Israel, humankind, and the earth by acknowledging the holiness present throughout creation – in ourselves, in one another, and in the world at large – through practice that includes reflection, study, worship, ritual, and more.

The Reform Jewish Community of Canada strives to create a more wholly inclusive, just, and compassionate world. We motivate people from diverse backgrounds to participate and deepen their engagement in Jewish life; create a more inclusive Jewish community; help congregations stay adept and relevant; develop teen and adult leaders to lead transformation for the future; foster meaningful connections to Israel; and advocate for a more progressive society.
